The fifth day of competition at the World Hockey Championships in Slovakia has come to a close.

Czech Republic vs. Denmark

After only firing 9 shots in their first game, the Danes had to improve on it, having lost their opener 5-1 to Finland. While their shot count increased, they were unable to score at all, the Czech Republic hammering them 6-0. Goals were scored by Michael Frolik (twice), Milan Michalek (twice), Tomas Plekanec (fresh from another good season with Montreal), and Petr Prucha. Patrik Elias failed to score on a late second-period penalty shot.
