The off-season in college football is always full of transfer news, and that's true even in Iowa.

Earlier this week, running back Josh Brown let it be known that he planned to transfer away from Iowa. This didn't come as much of a shock, considering the depth problem the Hawkeyes now have at the position.

Brown red-shirted last season and was expected to face fierce competition for playing time this coming season. Adam Robinson and Brandon Wegher are both returning starters, and Jewell Hampton looks to return strong from injury, not to mention a few powerful running backs coming in with the freshman class.

Brown has not mentioned a school of choice yet, but the message boards indicate he is transferring to a school closer to his home in St. Petersburg, Florida.
