The Dallas Stars, who have for the most part avoided the injury bug, was dealt a very serious blow to their already suspect defense when veteran, Stephane Robidas went hard into the end boards where his right leg appeared to get twisted up underneath him late in 2nd period as Dallas hosted the Chicago Blackhawks.
During the intermission, Stars analyst, Brent Severyn stated, "We could hear him all the way up here at our vantage point." Channel 8's investigative reporter Brett Shipp indicated via his personal twitter, "Was close to Robidas, leg looked broken."
As the 3rd period began, reports from Mark Stepneski confirmed via a Stars official that Robidas did fracture his leg and was being taken to UT Southwestern for further testing.
We will pass on confirmed reports as we receive them.
Per Dallas Stars, Stephane Robidas will have surgery tonight at 2am. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to a true warrior and great guy— Bruce LeVine (@BruceLeVine22) November 30, 2013
