The Dallas Cowboys are planning to hire former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.

Cowboys insider Mike Fisher reported via Twitter that the Dallas Cowboys was interested in hiring Linehan to take over play calling duties from Bill Callahan.

Last year under Linehan the Detroit Lions ranked 17th over all in rushing averaging 112 yards per game, 13th overall in points (24.7), 6th overall in total yards per game (392.1), and 3rd overall in passing yards with (280.1) yards per game.

The Dallas Cowboys under Callahan/Garrett last year ranked fifth in points (27.4) per game, 16th in total yards (341.1), 14th in passing yards (247.1) , and last but not least the Cowboys ranked 24th overall in the NFL in rushing with an appalling 94 yards per game.

Will Linehan be the answer for the Dallas Cowboys on the offensive side of the ball only time will tell but we as Cowboys fans know that we have to get better on both sides of ball if we want to make it to the playoffs.
