In last nights game I noticed many things, one of which was the very early season Tony "Smoke" Stewart swag..
Ah... The term "swagger" wasn't heavily over used last year so we might as well use it to kick off this year.
To start the game off it looked more like an And 1 tour than it did a real NBA game. I have never seen so many passes over the head (kind of like a hook shot) in any 5 minute period in my life. Couple that with Rondo throwing lobs off the backboard, and you have yourself a backyard pickup game.
Luckily that kind of, but not completely, calmed down throughout the remainder of the game. I don't want to rain on the parade because the Celtics played extremely well, but it might have been ehhhhhh a little much. They were in the process of manhandling a team with no Iguodala, Elton Brand, or Nocioni.
I have zero problem with the team getting cocky and arrogant if that is what works and wills them to victory. I have no problem with what the other fans or other teams in the league think of the Celtics. I just don't know if they are COMPLETELY entitled to the way they were acting having that be the first game back from losing in the Finals. Lets face it.. The Celtics have something to prove.
I say: Use this confidence that the team has to propel them and make them a better team, but not to make it look as though they have accomplished anything.
