Another day and another disappointing performance by the beloved Knick faithful. It seems as though this is sort of the trend we are starting to adapt and boy is it frustrating. With the 3-18 Clippers in town last night, the Knicks came out looking like a team of little boys playing against men. And really, is it that hard to ask for effort especially against the Clippers who are 3-18 on the road? This is the Garden. This is the home floor under the Broadway lights and the most famous basketball venue in the world. It is a wonder when the Knicks are going to man up and take advantage of that luxury.

 

Amar’e Stoudemire went from netting 41 points on Sunday against the Sixers to 23 last night . Danilo Gallinari shot 3-for-13 from the field and had 21 points due to a 14-for-14 performance from the free throw line. The worst part about last nights game is, well, still the lack of defense. Randy Foye lit up the Garden for 24 points. Randy Foye? Let’s not forget the fact that Eric Gordon their go to man on the wing did not suite up due to an injury. It goes to show the defense is so bad in spots that second and third rotation players end up being stars when facing the Knicks. Unacceptable.

 

The chant that rand out from the rafters in the second half of the game bellowed to the tune of, “We want ‘Melo” was epic. As I watched the game in awe and utter disappointment, that was a bright spot for me. It shows the fans are willing to express their want and actual need to land this guy and send management a message of enough of the game of patty cake. Man up, much like the coaching staff and Donnie Walsh told the players and land Anthony. If the players are to man up and perform, management should do the same and bring in a star to team with Stoudemire and Felton to perform on Broadway.
