Northwestern didn't exactly inspire a ton of confidence that they've rebounded from the Sparty drubbing as they gutted out a gritty 53-44 ugly win over Texas Pan-American last night at Welsh-Ryan. John Shurna was his usual steady-eddy and notched his first double-double with 21 points and 13 boards. Luka Mirkovic had his most complete game of the season and also went double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Northwestern didn't pull away until the waning moments in a game that suffered from attendance and atmosphere due to the blizzard-like conditions outside. Northwestern moves to 11-3 overall and seeks its much needed first Big Ten win on Sunday in Ann Arbor as the blossoming Wolverines bested Penn State tonight. Click here for the NUSports.com recap.
