Landon Cassill scored his second straight top-20 run for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, finishing 19th in Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 Nationwide Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Cassill, driving the G&K Services Chevrolet, started 24th but had moved into 14th place near the race’s halfway point.
“We had a pretty good car but just wound up there sort of in the middle of the pack,” Cassill said. “The track was tough to get a grip on, and the bumps in the turns are becoming more of a challenge. We were looking for a little better day, but we brought the car home again in good shape, and now we’ll move on.”
Cassill gained a spot in the Nationwide point standings to 12th and now is only eight points out of the top 10.
The Nationwide tour moves on to Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee this week.
