Just four seasons ago, the Hurricanes and the Oilers played a seven game series for the Stanley Cup. This season, it looks like they’ll be the two teams in the running for the Taylor Hall/Tyler Seguin sweepstakes. The Hurricanes started January quite well. They won four of their first five games, but they knew that they would have to play at an incendiary pace to qualify for the playoffs. Now they’ve lost two in a row and are at a critical juncture.
