Carl Edwards got his fourth Nationwide Series win this season in just his 15th start in the "Alliance Truck Parts 250" from Michigan International Speedway.
Edwards led on four separate occasions today, but took the lead for the final time with eight laps to go when he passed teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr in turn four.
Stenhouse took the lead on the final restart with 21 laps to go, and it looked like he would get his second win this season until Edwards came powering back with eight laps left. Stenhouse's car was really strong on the short runs, but tightened up too much for him on the long runs. The tight condition is what let Edwards reel him back in late.
Last race's winner Justin Allgaier had a really tough race. First he bounced off the wall very early, then he was spun by Sam Hornish Jr entering turn three on lap 56. His teammates didn't fare too well either. Justin Leffler was spun out on pit road, and Reed Sorenson was penalized multiple times as well as having engine issues throughout the race.
Kyle Busch again had a chance to tie Mark Martin's record for most career NNS wins with 49, but wasn't much of a factor today. He bounce off the wall early and it didn't help a car that he already thought wasn't going to be good enough to win. He ended up finishing third after battling really hard with Paul Menard late in the race.
