It was inevitable. Eventually all that Murphy's Pomade was going to seep into Captain Hair Gel's brain and cause a complete mental breakdown.

And it finally happened.

For whatever reason, New Mexico head coach Steve Alford got into a verbal confrontation with BYU player Jonathan Tavernari after a recent game. In the handshake line, Alford has some choice words for Tavernari.

By choice words, I mean he called the kid an asshole and a punk...with a camera two feet away.

Apparently not knowing that the words were caught on camera, he then opts to explain things to ESPN in a way only Captain Hair Gel can.

"I was telling him he had a phenomenal year and career at BYU," Alford said of the Tavernari. âHe was obviously upset and had words for me."
