With 12 games left in the regular season, the Caps need to start looking towards the postseason. In the goaltending department, they are stacked with young blood.

There is Michael Neuvirth, 22, Semyon Varlamov, 22, and Braden Holtby, 21. Although Varlamov hasn't shown an ability to stay healthy and in the starting line up, his replacement Holtby has been excellent.

Since starting his stint with the Caps, Holtby has given up less than 2 goals a game (1.95 GAA).  In the starting line up for 10 games, Holtby has come away with a record of 8-2-2 with a .931 save percentage. Those are some numbers we can live with in the DC area. For his efforts, he was named NHL's First Star of the Week.

But Neuvirth looks to be the starter come playoff time. With 22 wins this season in net, he stands as the team's leading goaltender and most reliable netminder.
