I’m sure we have all seen the Colin Kaepernick ”Beats By Dre” commercial where he puts on the beats to tune out the rowdy fans which we can assume that are being portrayed as Seahawks fans. As Kaepernick walks out of the bus, he smirks as he walks past the hostile crowd listening to the song of “The Man” by Aloe Blacc.
The Question is Will he have a smile on his face when he walks out of CenturyLink Field Sunday night?
Arguably the best rivalry in the NFL today, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks match up for the first time in the playoffs with Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson at the helm for their respective teams.
Since Kaepernick took over as the starting QB, the 49ers are 0-2 in Seattle. Both games that were an absolute nightmare for Kaepernick and the 49ers. The 49ers were outscored 71-16 in the the two contests combined.
Looking ahead to this matchup, I expect this heavyweight bout to go down to the wire. My concern for the Seahawks is they have been playing mediocre football on the offensive side in the past few games. Russell Wilson hasn’t been spectacular in those few games. Marshawn Lynch is the bright spot of the Seahawks offense that is keeping them alive at this point. Lynch and the Seahawks are up against the 4TH ranked run defense come Sunday. If Russell Wilson doesn’t start making the key plays, the Seahawks are going to be in trouble. The 49ers defense is a different animal compared to the Saints and Packers.
With that said, I expect this game to be a classic. The advantage goes to the Seahawks due to them being at home with the 12th man on their side. However, the 49ers have enough talent to end the Seahawks’ season in Seattle.
