The Boston Bruins have come to terms with 2nd overall pick Tyler Seguin today. Seguin will make a 900K base pay with a 3.75 cap hit due to bonus incentives. The Terms of the deal have not yet been made available, but it is belived to be those numbers which is similar to Taylor Hall’s contract.
With Marc Savard in trade rumors Seguin could play center, but if Savard is not traded he could easily play the wing. He told me at training camp he was comfortable playing the wing. He also mentioned that it did not matter to him it if was the left or right side.
The Bruins are over the cap, but with Marco Sturm set to go on the LTIR the Bruins do not have to rush to get under the cap. Once Sturm comes back Ryder would most likely be either traded or sent to Providence.
Also James Murphy of ESPN Boston had his stats from juniors on his blog:
Seguin, a 6-foot-1, 172-pound forward, played the past two seasons with the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
In 2009-10, Seguin led the OHL in scoring, sharing the title with Hall, with 48 goals and 58 assists for 106 points in 63 games.
