Amidst mechanical problems and an incident in the B-Main, Brian Love would fail to qualify for the 30-lap Mini Stock feature as part of Sunset Speedway’s Velocity 250 weekend.

Qualifying for the event started on Saturday and that is when the problems began. While Love was running inside of the top six in each of his heats, his car randomly shut off. Love got the car refired both times, but lost positions in the process and therefore failed to be one of the drivers in the sweet 18.

As a result, Love would have to run the B-Main. Starting 13th out of 26 cars, the goal was simple – finish in the top 10 to qualify. Love would quickly move up into the top 10, though contact with Kendra Adams and a caution for Adams going around would result in Love having to restart at the tail of the field. Love would battle hard for the rest of the short race, though came up short as he finished 13th.
