The last time any WWE fan has seen Bret Hart was when he participated in a live version of Grand Theft Auto on Raw almost 2 weeks ago. He was unable to make the Fatal 4 Way Pay Per View, where he was supposed to have an answer for the men who viciously attacked him, and was subsequently fired on screen by Vince McMahon the following day. This all makes sense in the WWE world, but what is really going on with Bret Hart?
It was a surprise to see Bret become GM on Raw, but fans were into him and he was having a good time, so he took the job. However, a couple of issues surfaced soon after Bret took on this new position. The first pertains to his insurance policy. Bret is insured by Lloyds of London, who seem to be unhappy with the physical nature of Bret's recent role on TV. I guess getting into numerous car accidents is considered physical......
The other issue is perhaps the bigger one for Bret. It has become known that Bret will be getting married in the very near future, and the travel schedule with WWE was putting strain on the relationship. I think we all can relate to this in some regard, but as selfish WWE fans, we're hoping the relationship can get worked out to allow Bret to continue to appear on camera.
Those two issues led to Bret leaving the WWE, at least temporarily. If you noticed, Vince did not do his screaming "yoooooooouuuuuuuure fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired!!" when firing Hart on Monday. It appears that this was not done to leave the door open for Bret and also to keep the focus on the NXT group and the development for that story.
Both issues appear to be workable, so it's probably about 50/50 that we see Bret again. Once the marriage and honeymoon are over, I would guess that a man has to work, and that may just be when we see the return of Bret Hart.
