Having racked up 8 straight wins in as many fights Sedgefields Bradley Saunders hopes that 2014 can be a big year that propels him into some big fights.Saunders kindly took time out of his busy schedule  to do a quick q/a with BoxingPulse.

BP.Hows preparations for you're upcoming fight on march 29th going?

BS.Start of preparations have been great.I flew back out here to the MGM Marbella in January and I've been flying in training, it's probably the best I've ever felt being this far away from a fight. The strength and conditioning training here is out of this world, real tough stuff!

BP.This will be back to back fights you have had in front of you're home crowd in the north east, was this always the plan to bring big fights back to the north east area?

BS.Without a doubt! The show I'm fighting on is a stacked card full of talent.Stuart Hall will be headlining the show along with the likes of Frankie Gavin and another north east fighter Jon Lewis Dickinson, defending his British Cruiserweight title. So it promises to be a great night of boxing.

BP.Whats the plans for yourself this year, have you had a chat with Frank(Warren) to see what lies ahead?

BS.Yes we've had a chat and this should be a big year for me.By the end of this year there should be some sort of title fight for us to have a crack at.

BP.You have went about you're business very quietly Brad, not name dropping any fighters you would want or like to fight which is unusual as it is clear to see you're levels above where you're at now, why is that?

BS.I don't see the point in calling out fighters as i feel i don't need anyone and in all fairness i know no one needs a Bradley Saunders, young upcoming and dangerous, who comes to win every fight. But i know as long as i keep winning and let my fists do the talking these people will have no choice to fight me, i'm practically knocking on the door now.

BP.Whats it like to be training along side the likes of Matthew Macklin, who's seen and done a lot in the sport?

BS.Well it's his brother Seamus who does all the padwork with me and the other lads at the gym, Matthew is always at the side telling me to try this and that and do this, so his input has been a great benefit to me and Matthew has definitely been a big part of my career so far.

BP.The tragedy that happened over in America last weekend involving the death of Mexican fighter Oscar Gonzalez is a staunch reminder of what can happen in are sport.

BS.It was horrible to hear that terrible news, the kid was only 23 and had a good future ahead of him, very sad news.

Bradley Saunders will next be out on the 29th march at Newcastle Arena with an opponent to be named in the next week or so.
