Big Newsday article fails to impress!!!

If you missed it, in todays issue of Newsday there was a big article about the Islanders done by Randi Marschall and Jim Baumbach. The anticipation of the article was mounting after it was pushed back a couple weeks, but upon its publishing today it left a lot to be desired. For example, they talked to many season ticket holders including original season ticket holders. They made it seem like the season ticket holders they talked to were not renewing next year because of the losing and thats all. Not because of the imcompetant management of the team and the fact that our GM holds 3 different positions in the front office. To me for a professional level team for a GM to be a GM, assistant GM, and director of amatuer scouting is just unacceptable. I don't care how much money you have lost, if you have lost that much that you can't afford to run the team like a professional team then you should sell the team. The article was more of a Wang has spent 208 million dollars keeping the team afloat and people won't sign here because of the arena. Thats not good because although superfans like us know thats not the whole truth, casual observers of the team are going to take it as truth. They failed to make it an article about how although our crappy arena doesn't help us attract free agents the circus atmosphere run by our owner doesn't help. According to the newsday article we have had 8 coaches in the last 10 years. That is a new coach every year and a half. How does that work? One other things the article failed to touch on that I want to touch on is the similarities of how Wang runs the Islanders with how he ran computer associates. When he was with CA Wang would like hire people with less exp and stuff of that nature so he can have a hold on them for intimidation and stuff of that nature. I don't know but doesn't that sound familiar to what he does now? Our GM is a first time GM, so is our coach. Also people with expierence have been kicked out over the last year or so, see Botta, Billy Jaffe, Bryan Trottier, and going back a few years Neil Smith and Pat Lafontaine. Its eery how similar the way he runs things here and CA is and you know hes been investigated for frauglent activity at CA so I wonder if hes doing that here to?
