Celtics 96 Nets 92
This game got out to a very sluggish start. The Celtics couldn't hit a shot from anywhere on the floor, including directly under the basket where they had missed layup after missed layup (although they were challenging layups). The C's couldn't even do it when they got to the stripe. Either way, the team wasn't too far behind after this first phase of the game, and quickly things began to even themselves out.
Once the second team took the floor, the shots started falling. This charge was led by Delonte West and Glen Davis. West is really stepping it up and finding his comfort level with what the team is looking for out of him. What impressed me the most was when he came up the floor, looked around as no one was coming out to guard him, and burried a 3 in transition. To me, that shows how he understands what it is he is supposed to be doing.
As for the starters, they pretty much had an expected night with the exception of The Truth. Pierce is coming into this season in very good shape and with great focus. The only question is: How long will that hold up? I remember saying around midseason last year that Pierce wasn't finishing the same and didn't have the same quickness he had at the start of the season. Lets hope he can go the whole season looking how he does right now. Pierce finished with 15 and 6 in 18 minutes of play.
In the end this preseason game turned out to be somewhat exciting. It came down to a big time 3 that was knocked down by Marquis Daniels after Jordan Farmar had previously tied it up with a 3 of his own. What excitement there was in the end got dragged down by the excessive whistles that occured throughout the game.. I will talk about that at a later point. That is a whole new topic.
Next Game: Sunday 10/10 at The Garden -- 6 PM Tip
