This one really hurt. Unfortunately its now going to take a really remarkable run in the ACC (probably a 12-4ish record) in order to make the NCAAs. In the past, a lot of these upset losses have been due to the players sleepwalking through the game and therefore letting inferior opponents take control. I hate to say this because I am a big Al supporter, but this loss can be highly attributed to him being outcoached. The team simply had no idea how to handle Maine's 2-3 zone. Skinner had no answer to this and did not make any adjustments. They let Maine control the tempo of the game and instead of telling the team to run on Maine and make less of a halfcourt game (which is exactly what it was), he tried to slow the game down and run horredous half court sets.
