-In what was expected to be an epic pitchers duel, UCLA jumped on Vanderbilt ace Sonny Gray early and pulled away for a 9-2 victory.With the Bruins leading 2-0 after four, things got nasty in the fifth for the Commodores. UCLA scored six runs, knocking Gray out of the game in the process.UCLA's Gerrit Cole got the win, striking out eight over five innings. He was only responsible for two runs in the sixth, when the 'Dores tried to mount a comeback. Vanderbilt could never get over the hump, stranding 12 runners on base in the contest.Cole combined with Matt Grace, Erik Goeddel, and Dan Klein to strike out 14 Commodores.Vanderbilt plays USC tonight. Taylor Hill gets the start for the Commodores, while Chad Smith will take the mound for the Trojans.-
