Anthony Santella has made a name for himself this season, being named as one of the top punters in the entire nation.

Now, Santella has made a name for himself in the classroom as well.

He has received the honor of being named to Academic District Teams.

To be eligible for this award, a player must be at least in his second year of athletic eligibility, be a first-team or key performer, and carry a cumulative 3.30 GPA.

Santella, a 6'2", senior from Wauconda, Illinois is averaging 46 yards a punt this season, which ranks seventh in the nation.

His punting has been an immense asset to his team, helping the Illini record a record of 5-3 (3-2).

Illinois will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to face the Wolverines at the Big House, and are hoping to become bowl eligible with a victory.
