Christmas time is approaching. The New York Islanders are in the midst of a season to forget. This time of year was expected to be a "jolly' one for the Isles' fan-base, but instead, most fans feel as if they've woken up to coal in their stocking and no presents under the tree.Fourteenth place in the Eastern Conference. Twenty-eighth in the NHL. Twenty-first in goals for, and twenty-ninth in goals against. The Islanders need a lot of help, and everybody (they included) knows they need it.So. As we inch towards Christmas, it's about time I write to Santa with my hopes and dreams penned on snowflake letterhead. I'm leaving out cookies and milk, going to bed, and hoping I wake up on Christmas morning with more than a few wishes granted (and yes, I know it won't actually happen on Xmas...
