Today the USA basketball team had their toughest test of the year so far against a very well-rounded Spain team. Since Rajon Rondo is currently a member of the team we feel that it is neccesary to let you know what is going on with Team USA.
Here's a quick recap of today's game:
- Team USA pulled off a narrow 86-85 victory.
- Kevin Durant saved the day with two blocks late in the game for Team USA. He also led all scorers with 25 points.
- Derrick Rose put Team USA ahead with two made free throws late in the game.
- Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo did not play in today's game. The reason: "(Rondo and Granger) are two veterans and young guys haven’t had a chance to start or whatever, so before we select our 12 we needed to give everyone a look." ~Coach K after the game.
In all reality this game means absoloutely nothing. When push comes to shove Team USA should roll through this tournament with ease. The team plays its final exhibition game against Greece on Monday before playing Croatia on Saturday in their first "real" game.
