There's been a lot of questioning about whether or not the Thunder will be able to keep their nucleus together from a financial perspective. One of the key members many feel could be going elsewhere if the right amount of money is offered is James Harden, the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year. Harden could start on almost any other team in the NBA but the 22 year old has never let playing off the bench bother him. He has one year left under contract and is up for his first contract extension in July. With Westbrook and Durant both signed to long term deals, its almost certain another team will be able to offer him a larger contract than the Thunder but Harden seems insistent that he is staying in OKC. As far as working out all the deatils of a contract extension is concerned, he doesn't seem the slightest bit worried. Harden was recently quoted saying "I'm focused on several other things right now. But when the time is right, they'll figure it out and it'll be done." Harden is well-liked to say the least by Thunder fans and I know many of them are hoping the man whose trademark has become his beard stays in OKC. After a disappointing Finals, he will have a lot prove next season especially come playoff time. Until then we will have to see if he can duplicate, or better yet improve upon, what he did last season. Only time will tell how his future will play out and how long he'll stay in a Thunder uniform.
