Now that part one of the NFL offseason is about to wrap up in the NFL combine. It is time to prepare you all for part two which is a bit more exciting for NFL fans.
Free agency begins on Friday March 5 at the stroke of midnight. There has been a ton of chatter of who is headed where in this weaker than normal free agency class, thanks to no new NFL/NFLPA CBA. Fear not though that your team can't improve themselves through this process though. There are some decent players that just may put your favorite NFL squad over the top next season.
There are more variables than usual as far free agents signings go with the fact it is going to be an uncapped year and a possible lockout looming in 2011. Most fans think teams will go on spending sprees, but that is unlikely in most places. What should be expected is more cutting of salaries than ever as teams do their best Kansas City Royals or Pittsburgh Pirates immatations. Here at Touchdown Dance will bring you the full list (position by position) of potential free agents and our own little brand of commentary. The list will be ranked in order we feel is the top to the bottom of the class. What we won't do is try to project where any of these guys might land, because in this current NFL economic client it is almost impossible to determine.
Quarterbacks
1. Chad Pennington- the noodle armed one is the best of the week bunch. Though he may throw like a girl he does know how to win and leads a team very well. Good get for any team that has any question of too much youth or no quarterback at all.
2. David Carr- now that Carr has had a chance to have his brain unscramble (playing back-up) it may be time to see if he can lead a team as a starter again. He has the tools, but did his time in Houston make him gun shy.
3. Duante Culpepper- he still can't read a defense to save his life and he is no longer the running threat he once was, but if you want someone to throw the ball real long while your starter recovers from injury Culpepper is your man.
4. Rex Grossman- just another in a long line of failed Florida Gator quarterbacks. Up next, Tim Tebow.
5. Chris Redman- quality veteran back-up that your team to count on to maybe win you one game.
6. Josh McCown
7. Kyle Boller
8. Charlie Batch
9. Patrick Ramsey
10. AJ Feeley
11. Brian St. Pierre- Arizona may want to resign this kid, if they were watching closely when "Party Boy" Matt Leinhart played last season.
12. Mark Brunell- Is it possible some team will give this guy more paychecks?
Running Backs
1. Chester Taylor- hard to imagine that the Vikings would let this guy get away. As he was their running back that doesn't suffer from fumbilitis. If they dotheir will be plenty of suitors for the under appreciated back.
2. Thomas Jones- it is true that most backs slow once hitting thirty, but this guy is in great shape and has produced well over the past couple of seasons. Look for Jones to help some team in a significant way this upcoming season.
3. LaDainian Tomlinson- he has fallen so very far from where he once stood a top the NFL, but this veteran still has a quarter tank left and should be able to help a team in a supproting role.
4. Brian Westbrook- one more hit to the egg and he may be sipping from a straw for the rest of his life, but his talent and skill set will have a team giving him one last shot.
5. Larry Johnson- if your looking for someone to straighten out the women your town than Johnson is your man.
6. Willie Parker- still fast, just not very good between the tackles.
7. Chris Brown
8. Kevin Faulk

10. Vernon Hayes
11. Ahman Green
Fullbacks
1. Tony Richardson- yes, it does seem like he has been in the league forever, but he can still knock the crap out of linebackers and that will find him a job.
2. Justin Griffith
3. Dan Kreider
4. Jeremi Johnson
Wide Receivers
1. Antonio Bryant- a year removed from his career season can Bryant keep it all together to remain at the top of his game?
2. Terrell Owens- no longer the super-dee-duper, bi-polar stud he once was. Owens still brings enough to the table to let him give your quarterback headaches.
3. Nate Burlson- had a good season last year and is still worth a decent contract.
4. Kevin Walter- very good number two receiver with good size and hands.
5. Josh Reed- somehow got lost on the Bills depth chart and can help a team a bunch when used in the slot.
6. Chris Chambers
7. Derrick Mason
8. Mike Furrey
9. Kassim Osgood- terrific special teams guy.

5. Marques Douglas
6. Ian Scott
7. Bryan Robinson
8. Jeff Zgonina- older than dirt, but finds a way to stay on NFL rosters
9. Hollis Thomas- hard to believe there is much left in this large tank.
10. William Joseph
11. Kendrick Clancy
12. Justin Bannin
Defensive Ends
1. Julius Peppers- he has finally gotten what he wanted, out of Carolina with a chance to make even more money than he has already. Lets see who is dumb enough to pay the part-time player.
2. Aaron Kampman- got lost in the new 3-4 scheme the Packers employed and then suffered a season ending injury. Great motor, only time will tell if he is completely healed.
3. Kyle Vandenbosch- non-stop motor, a poor man's Jared Allen.
4. Jimmy Wilkerson
5. Adewale Ogunleye- a late season break of the leg cost him a few dollars on his last deal of his career.
6. Jarvis Green

2. Anthony Henry
3. Leigh Bodden- found his pre-Lions performance in his one year with the Patriots.
4. Brian Williams- injured his knee last year, his health will determine when, where and for how much money he will find.
5. Ken Lucas- looking to head somewhere where nobody will punch him in the face at practice.
6. William James- the Lions are going to have to keep or James or Henry who ranks a bit higher on the list. My money is on James who will come cheaper.

9. Deshea Townsend

16. Frank Walker
17. Dante Wesley- strictly a special teamer.

Free Safety
1. Antrel Rolle- hasn't been released just yet, but the Cardinals have so many other issues that paying Rolle isn't going to happen making him the top get at his position.

3. Tyrone Carter- big hitter, not so good in coverage.
4. Bryan Scott
5. Roy Williams- at least his wife is still hot.
6. Nick Ferguson
